DCC Jane Connors LVO, QPM

Biography

Deputy Chief Constable Jane Connors holds over thirty years of policing experience drawn from a range of nationally significant command functions.

Deputy Chief Constable Connors joined the Police Service of Scotland in 2023, with executive responsibility for Crime and Operational Support. Within her portfolio, DCC Connors holds responsibility for Major Crime, Public Protection, Local Crime, Organised Crime, Counter Terrorism, Intelligence and Operational Support.

Having joined the Metropolitan Police Service in 1993, DCC Connors started her career in East London working across different communities before moving to Westminster, to run the proactive crime teams.

She has been head of both Taskforce and Public Order Planning commands.  She is one of the most experienced Public Order Cadre officers nationally, successfully delivering a significant number of complex and challenging events many on the national and international stage. 

DCC Connors has previously held oversight of control rooms, responding to urgent and non-urgent calls from the public, as well as working in Local Policing & Neighbourhoods, leading on Violence Reduction.

As Deputy Assistant Commissioner, DCC Connors was responsible for leading on Organisational Improvement, COVID, Stop & Search and co-ordinated the Metropolitan Police response to Violence against Women & Girls (VAWG) – an area which she now leads for Police Scotland.

DCC Connors has over 30 years’ service from across Police Scotland and the Metropolitan Police, and has a wealth of experience in all areas of policing. She is passionate about public service. She is delighted to have moved to Scotland with her family and is proud to be a leader in Police Scotland and to be serving the communities of Scotland.
