Scottish Government introduces simple cyber security to P1s
The Scottish Government and Education Scotland is delighted to continue to support the publication of The Bongles and the Crafty Crows, one of the world’s first illustrated books for children aged 4-7 about cyber security. Launched during Scottish Book Week (18-22 November), the book will be included in this year’s Primary 1 Book Bug bags in November and read along sessions will be hosted during the week.
New Fearless Scotland campaign launched to combat online sextortion
A powerful new campaign to help protect young people from harmful sextortion has been launched across Scotland, in partnership with the Scottish Government, Crimestoppers and Police Scotland.
NCSC urge shoppers to protect themselves during Black Friday shopping
The NCSC is warning bargain hunters about cyber criminal scams and encouraging them to turn on 2-step verification (2SV) to protect online accounts after new figures revealed rising losses to online scammers during the festive shopping season.
LEAD Scotland launches Digital Health Check
Lead Scotland has developed an easy-to-use online health checker that allows individuals to check their digital health over a range of topics and find out how to boost any area with room for development on its online learning platform.
NCSC shares incident communications and legal sector guidance
The UK’s National Cyber Security Centre has produced guidance for organisations of all sizes to manage their communications strategies before, during and after a cyber incident. It has also published a Cyber Threat Report for the Legal Sector to help those in the legal profession understand current cyber security threats, the extent to which the legal sector is being targeted, and how the sector can prevent cyber attacks.

Cyber and Fraud Centre – Scotland has launched a new tool to help budget-conscious businesses of all sizes assess their overall cybersecurity strength.

UK schools are being offered access to a free cyber service defence service to protect against online threats.
SCVO to host digital change community meet up
The Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO) is hosting a new series of meetups for digital change-makers, leads, and enthusiasts. On 4th December attendees will come together at the digital event to discuss new and emerging topics, along with the cyber challenges faced by organisations.

UK and Singapore strengthen cyber partnership
The UK recently welcomed Brigadier Edward Chen, Defence Cyber Chief of the Singapore Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS), in a visit focused on strengthening the UK-Singapore relationship in the cyber domain.
